Lucknow Public College, A-Block, Rajajipuram, successfully hosted the Closing Ceremony of the CISCE (UP) Regional Girls’ Kabaddi Tournament 2026 on 5 August 2026, marking the culmination of a three-day sporting extravaganza that celebrated talent, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Held from 3 to 5 August, the tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing Agra, Gorakhpur, Lucknow South, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Lucknow North, Kanpur South and Bareilly, making it a vibrant platform for young kabaddi players from across Uttar Pradesh to showcase their skills.
The closing ceremony was graced by Nikita Singh, Director, Lucknow Public Schools and Colleges, as the Chief Guest. Congratulating the winners, she applauded the dedication, determination and sporting spirit displayed by all the participants. She also appreciated the efforts of the coaches, team managers and organisers for ensuring the successful conduct of the tournament. As a gesture of gratitude, the officials, team managers and coaches were felicitated with saplings and mementoes.
Addressing the gathering, Bharti Gosain, Principal, congratulated all the participants and highlighted the significance of discipline, teamwork and perseverance in shaping confident and responsible individuals. She encouraged students to continue pursuing excellence in sports alongside academics.
The tournament concluded with impressive performances across all age categories. In the Under-14 category, Varanasi emerged champions, while Ghaziabad secured the second position and Lucknow South Zone finished third. In the Under-17 category, Ghaziabad claimed the championship, followed by Varanasi in second place and Lucknow South Zone (UP-J) in third. In the Under-19 category, Varanasi lifted the championship trophy, Ghaziabad secured the runners-up position and Lucknow South Zone (UP-J) finished third. The winners were honoured with CISCE medals and certificates, and the selected players will now represent the region at the National Kabaddi Championship to be held in Meerut.
Throughout the tournament, the school ensured excellent arrangements for accommodation, meals and hospitality for all visiting teams, earning appreciation from participants and officials alike.
The successful organisation of the championship reaffirmed Lucknow Public College A-Block’s commitment to providing holistic education by promoting excellence in academics, sports and co-curricular activities, while nurturing confident, disciplined and well-rounded individuals.
